Kannauj Police Launch Specialized Patrol Units to Curb Rising Road Accidents
Kannauj Police have launched four specialised patrol teams to monitor accident-prone routes in Uttar Pradesh. Led by SP Vinod Kumar, the initiative deploys 20 personnel and new CCTV surveillance across critical corridors to curb rising road mishaps and strengthen district-wide road safety measures.
According to officials, each team comprises one sub-inspector supported by four constables, bringing the total deployment to 20 personnel. Police have singled out four critical stretches within the district where recurring accidents have become a serious public concern. To strengthen oversight, three CCTV cameras will be installed along these vulnerable points, enabling real-time monitoring and quicker response in the event of an emergency.
Authorities say the initiative marks a heightened push towards improving road discipline, enforcing traffic norms, and ensuring safer travel conditions for commuters. The police believe the combination of increased manpower and surveillance technology will help reduce incidents significantly and provide a greater sense of security to residents navigating these high-risk routes.
With the new patrol structure now in place, the district administration hopes the reinforced vigilance will not only deter violations but also serve as a long-term measure to enhance overall road safety standards in Kannauj.
